The Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA published a Public Notice on November 2, 2022 that conditionally approved 13 proposed Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) database systems that manage spectrum access for unlicensed standard-power devices operating in the 6 GHz frequency band. This decision helps prepare for future generations of Wi-Fi, including Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7.
